Research: Splash and Home Pages

The Chicago Institute of Art has one splash page for 2 home pages, one for the museum and one for the school.  The splash page is very minimalistic and straightforward, but not boring.  The images for each home page change every few seconds.  Below is a screenshot of the splash page and each of the home pages.  All of the sub pages are different from each other, but uniform.  There is good unity throughout, but I'm not confused about where I am.  The only things that makes me sad are that all of the pages are really boxy, and that the color palette is kind of boring.  However, the designer was pretty good about designating different colors to each section.
